| 06-22-08 Sunday Congratulations to James Cheesman, Jennifer Cheesman, and Daniel Charles, who have successfully completed the Cumberland County Fire Academy's Firefighter I program, and passed the New Jersey State Firefighter Exam. We're very proud to have these new firefighters to help serve you. 05-27-08 Tuesday *HEAD-ON WITH ENTRAPMENT* A head-on collision on Irving Ave Sunday night left one patient entrapped, requiring a 15-20 minute extrication. That patient was flown by SouthStar to Cooper Trauma Center in Camden with unspecified injuries. The driver of the second vehicle was transported to South Jersey Healthcare's Regional Medical Center in Vineland with minor injuries. Pictures here. 05-22-08 Thursday Congratulations to firefighter Dave Daniels and his wife on the birth of their second child, a boy. Justin Russell Daniels was born 05-13-08 weighing in at 7 pounds, 15 ounces. Future firefighter? We think so. 04-16-08 Tuesday *FATAL MVA WITH HEAVY ENTRAPMENT* 1532 hours yesterday, April 15th, dispatched along with Station 32, Squad 34, and Life Support 7 for reported Motor Vehicle Accident / Rescue Assignment at Rosenhayn Ave and South Burlington Rd. Small pickup was "t- boned" by a tractor-trailer with impact on the driver's side. Driver of the pickup was heavily entrapped and pronounced at the scene by Life Support Paramedics. Driver of tractor-trailer was transported to SJH Regional Medical Center in Vineland with unspecified minor injuries. Crews remained on scene for 2 1/2 hours while victim was removed and the debris field was cleared. 03-22-08 Saturday *HEAVY FIRE ON ARRIVAL IN SEABROOK* One alarm fire on Second Ave destroyed a single-family dwelling this morning. First arriving units confronted with heavy fire conditions that had already self-vented from the small home. Fire placed under control in about 15 minutes. No civilian or firefighter injuries. UDVFC #3 assisted Seabrook Fire & Rescue with man-power and water supply for the attack. 06-21-08 Saturday *MOTORCYCLE VS. UTILITY POLE* A male patient was airlifted by University MedEvac 5 following the violent collision of his motorcycle into a utility pole just after 1800 hours. UDVFC #3 provided the Landing Zone at Buck's Airfield. Update 06-29-08: Patient succumbed to his injuries shortly after arrival at Cooper Trauma Center. *TRUCK VS. HOUSE* Initially dispatched at 1519 as a dwelling, UDVFC#3, Seabrook Fire & Rescue, UDEMS, and Life Support Seven arrived to find a pickup truck that had careened off of Old Deerfield Pike and slammed in a home causing significant damage to the foundation. The female driver of the truck was transported to SJH Regional Medical Center in Vineland with serious injuries. Cause is under investigation by NJSP. |
