Drill held 11-08-06 with Stations 31, 32, 29 and Squad 34. At 6:30PM, all Upper Deerfield Township Fire Companies and UDEMS were dispatched to 51 Cornwell Drive for a dwelling reported with entrapment. A large three bedroom house, scheduled for demolition in the coming days was donated for one night of intense training. Firefighters practiced search and rescue, fire suppression (although there was no actual fire), roof ventilation, wall breaching, rescuing a downed firefighter, and a variety of other skills, while members of the township's Emergency Medical Services got to practice their skills in firefighter rehabilitation. A smoke machine was used to fill the residence with artificial smoke, creating very real circumstances. The drill was considered a huge success by all and we hope to be able to have another one like it very soon. Drills like these allow your firefighters to better develop the skills needed to serve you. We would like to extend our thanks to all who made this drill possible and to Rosenhayn Volunteer Fire and Rescue (Sta 29) for their assistance.
